Northern Fun Day – Saturday 29th July

Brain Games for your Dog – with trainer Caroline Penistone

12:30-15:30 Kyle Valley Scouts, Tholthorpe, North Yorkshire
Address: Back Lane, Tholthorpe YO61 1SN

This promises to be an excellent and rewarding day for your dogs. Caroline previously gave us an introduction to Treibball and all the dogs and owners who attended that session had a very good day. This time Caroline will look at ways to keep our dogs stimulated and mentally active, which is definitely of benefit to any of our breed.

As this is a full fun day, the charge will be £2 per adult, free for dogs and children. The scout field gives plenty of space for your dogs to have a good run away from traffic. Fun days are a great way to meet other dogs and owners and share the joys and tribulations of owning our wonderful breed. Those waiting for puppies are always very welcome to attend. Tea and coffee will be provided but feel free to bring a picnic lunch.

Please email rosjkind@gmail.com if planning to attend

Another successful Entlebucher walk

On 5 March, the Club held its second Entlebucher walk of the year, this time at Arrow Valley Country Park in Redditch. Although it was very cold, four Entlebuchers came along – Albert, Izzy, Salvo and Wilma – and enjoyed an on and off lead walk over about 4 miles of parkland and lanes. Unfortunately there are no photographs this time, but safe to say everyone had a great time.

Watch out here for details of future walks.

If you have a favourite walk near you and would like to arrange a group walk so that other Entlebuchers can enjoy it with you, we’d love to hear about it so that we can help with advertising the details. Contact us at membership@entlebucher.co.uk.

First Entlebucher walk of 2023

Today, 5th February, saw our first Entlebucher walk of 2023. The sun was shining and only the cold stopped it from feeling like Spring had already arrived at Coombe Abbey Park, Coventry. It was just perfect weather for a walk and everyone agreed they’d had a great time.

If you’d like to join us for our next walk, look out for details here and on our Club Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you.

From L-R, Pip, Albert, Alba, Loki, Izzy and Salvo

A very sad day – Shadow (Aisha Princess of Beauty)

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Shadow crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. As many of you know, Shadow was a founding dog of our Club and mum to 22 of our wonderful breed in the UK. She was a huge part of our Club and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, both dog and human.

Our thoughts are with Ros, Chris, Aristotle and Wilma at this sad time.

New arrivals from Czechia

Yesterday saw the arrival of Bibi, Bart, Billy and Ben, all from the same litter born in Czechia, The four bring the UK Entlebucher number up to 136 and have all gone to different homes with families who have been waiting a long time for their puppies. It is hoped that in time two of the four may go on to join the breeding programme.

Entlebucher walks, rearranged fun days, and breeding tests

Please join us for a walk at the Lickey Hills Country Park on Saturday October 29th. We will be meeting outside the visitor centre at 2pm. The full address is Lickey Hills Country Park, Warren Lane, Rednal, Birmingham, B45 8ER. Please let us know on our Facebook Page if you will be joining us.

If you can’t make that date, or it’s a bit too far from home, we are running a Christmas walk at the start of December in the London area. Keep a look out for more details here and on our Facebook page.

We are also running our postponed Agility Fun Day on April 22nd 2023 in Ryslip. More details to follow..
