Come and join us for our Summer Fun Day

April 19th saw us return to Kedleston Hall for our first Entlebucher walk of the year. The weather was incredibly kind to us meaning we were able to take advantage of the long walk up behind the Hall and back along the side of the lake.
We’re always looking to arrange group walks across the country, so if you have a favourite walk you’d like to invite other Entlebuchers to join you on, please let us know (lynngibbins@btinternet.com) and we’d be happy to help you organise and promote it.

This year we returned to Cogenhoe and Whiston Village Hall in Northamptonshire for our Easter Fun Day on 4 April. Those who joined the fun were invited to take part in the Egg and Spoon Race, Leap Frog Relay, Biscuit Catch and Alfie Says, with prizes for the winners. Safe to say, a very good time was had by all.

We’re starting our series of Entlebucher walks this year with a return to Kedleston Hall in the Derbyshire Dales on 19th April. We’ll be meeting in the car park at 11.00am for an easy walk through the grounds, expected to last about 1 1/2 hours. There are full facilities on site, including a National Trust cafe for anyone wanting coffee or lunch afterwards.. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know by emailing lynngibbins@btinternet.com.
(Please note, this is a NT property, so there will be an entry fee for non-members, parking is free for everyone.)

We’ve been busy planning our events for 2026 – here are the events we can confirm so far. More details will be added nearer the dates.
In addition there will be Entlebucher walks all over the country and we’ll let you know about those in the New Year.
We look forward to seeing you in 2026.
After last year’s success, we will again be holding our Southern Fun Day at Ryslip Kennels, Binfield, RG24 5NL from 1pm until 3.30pm.
If you’ve never tried agility with your dog and would like to give it a go, come along and find out how much fun it can be. Or if you have done agility training, come and show everyone how good Entlebuchers can be at this skill. Everyone and all abilities welcome.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Our next Entlebucher walk will be on 26 April at Kedleston Hall, Kedleston Road, Near Quarndon, Derby. DE22 5JH, meeting by the main entrance at 11.00am. Kedleston Hall is a National Trust property so there is an admission charge for non-members – see here for details https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/peak-district-derbyshire/kedleston-hall
The walk is an easy one, on trails for the most part, through a mixture of woodland and meadow and about 3 miles long. Please note, dogs must be kept on leads at all times as there are livestock and nesting birds near the trail. If it’s been raining a lot, the last part of the walk is through a field by the lake, so walking boots are recommended. There’s a cafe at the end of the walk and plenty of tables for a picnic if you’d prefer.
If you’d like to join us or have any questions, please let Lynn know by emailing her at lynngibbins@btinternet.com.
Sunday 16 March was our first fun day of the year and it was a good one, with 14 Entlebuchers taking part in the ball and spoon race, temptation alley, catch and many other games. Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a success and congratulations to all our winners.

Now that the days are starting to get longer again, our thoughts are turning to events for 2025. We’ve got lots of exciting things planned, with some happening over the next few weeks. We hope you are able to join us and meet some other Entlebuchers and their humans. Please check back here nearer to the dates shown for more information and watch out for emails in your inboxes.

Yesterday (7th April) saw the latest in our Entlebucher group walks, this time walking the 5 miles around the Tittesworth Reservoir, near Leek in Staffordshire. Amazingly, despite heavy showers all around, we managed our circumnavigation in the dry (with some sunshine too) and even avoided the rain for coffees and a chat afterwards. Big shout out to Dexter and his humans, Andy and Harley who joined us for part of the route. Dexter is originally from the United States and a lovely fella, we look forward to meeting him and his humans again. The photo below was taken at the halfway point of the walk where the dam crosses the reservoir (with thanks to David Gibbins). From R-L are Mike and Bella, Martin and Albert, Lynn, Salvo and Izzy, and Chris and Wilma.
