Crufts success!

Congratulations to Sian Baynton and Buddy (Alfie Bangwood) on not only winning the Import Working Class Group at Crufts, but getting through to the final cut in Group judging. As Frank Cane said, Buddy is a very good looking dog and well deserved his place in the final eight. So lovely to see all Sian’s hard work rewarded and a great advert for our wonderful breed!

Breeding Update

We have exciting news for our breeding programme this year, with the possibility of several litters coming up.

Lia (Ophelia vom Gspan) visited Belgium towards the end of February and successfully mated with Tsjerno. Izzy (Cara-Isabella vom Kornried), meanwhile, is just getting ready to head to the Netherlands to meet her intended, Tyga. She’s currently expecting to travel on Thursday, so we wish her and Tyga well.

If all goes to plan, that means we’re hoping to be announcing the arrival of two litters and lots of lovely puppies in April and May. So, if you’re thinking an Entlebucher might be the dog for you, now is a great time to join our puppy list. Let us know by contacting our Puppy Coordinator (puppies@entlebucher.co.uk) and, if you’re planning on visiting Crufts, please pop by our Discover Dogs stand and say ‘Hello!’

Post Brexit Pet Travel

Many of us have taken advantage of the pet passport scheme to travel to the EU with our Entlebuchers in the past. But it’s important to be aware that the rules for taking pets abroad may be changing shortly. If the UK agrees a deal and transition period for leaving the EU, then the current rules may continue to apply while new rules are agreed. However, in the event no deal is agreed, you may need to take action at least 4 months before you travel. Please follow the link below if you would like more information about travelling if there is no deal.

Northern Fun Day 2019

On 6 July, the Club held it’s Northern Fun Day in Tholthorpe, Yorkshire. After some free play and games, we were pleased to welcome Caroline Penistone of CAST Dog Training, who took us through the basics of Treibball. None of our dogs have done this before, so it was great to be able to introduce them something new, which exercised both their brains and bodies at the same time. If you haven’t tried Triebball before and would like to give it a go, we’ve provisionally booked Caroline again for next year’s Northern Fun Day!
